Are you headed to Yosemite this winter? If so, February is the perfect time! For just a few weeks each year, in late February, Horsetail Fall will be at just the right angle to catch the sun’s glow, causing it to turn into a stream of fire. The “Fire Falls” phenomenon, (where the water glows orange and red like molten lava), attracts hundreds of visitors to Yosemite Valley each year. If the conditions are right (clear sky & appropriate water flow), and you’re there at sunset, you just may be able to witness this one of a kind spectacle. There are plenty of locations to view the waterfall throughout Yosemite Valley and you can pick up a park map in one of the many little shops in the resort town of Twain Harte.
