Come out in our red, white and blue and participate in this annual 4th of July Parade. Register at 11:00, and the parade begins at 11:30 am at the flagpole.

Columbia State Historic Park invites you to our annual Glorious Fourth of July Celebration on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, with a community parade, games and more. The Independence Day festivities, sponsored by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, begin with a Flag Raising and Black Powder Musket Salute by the Columbia Militia at 11 a.m. The Great Mother Lode Brass & Reed Band will also give a free concert at 11 a.m. on Main Street in front of the City Hotel. Try your skill at the many contests popular in the early days of Columbia, with “Needle in the Haystack,” a watermelon eating contest, “Bucket Brigade,” greased pole climbing and nail pounding contests, egg relay and egg toss, cake walk, and the “Five Way Tug-O-War.” We suggest a one dollar donation to participate in contests. Columbia’s Independence Day celebration includes a barbeque at 1 p.m. Barbeque tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. Proceeds of the day benefit the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

In order to become human again, the Beast must earn Belle’s love. Can the curse be broken? (Rated G) at the Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Historic Park.

First Friday Jamestown Art Walk-Wine-Dine & Music
The “First Friday Jamestown Art Walk~Wine~Dine & Music Event was created by the Tuolumne County Arts Alliance to create a sense of community vitality and economic development in Jamestown through the ARTS. The combination of matching-up local artists, local musicians with the established retail, hospitality and merchant community of Jamestown is the focus of this TCAA event. Featured monthly music groups will perform in the Gazebo in Rocca Park and individual musicians and other groups will also be performing on Main Street and in other shops and hotels on the First Friday evening event. First Fridays! are a great way to begin a new month! End a work week by going wine tasting at the two tasting rooms on Main Street, enjoying dinner at one of the many restaurants on Main Street, visiting the many retail shops along Main Street and enjoying seeing and talking to local artists and performing musicians from May through October. Hours are 5 – 7 p.m.
