Just a short, one-hour drive will lead you to Yosemite National Park. There are a myriad of activities for outdoor lovers of all kinds. If you have just one day to commit to the park, you will want to maximize your time there. Here is a good way to spend that time to ensure that you get the most enjoyment for your day.
Start with Yosemite Valley. This is the nerve center for the park and its most popular destination by far. While in the Valley, be sure to take the short stroll to the base of Yosemite Falls. This is one of the tallest falls on the planet. It’s the highlight of Yosemite Valley.
After your time in the Valley, head south toward the Tunnel View overlook. You will find the perfect spot for that dramatic, iconic picture to show all your friends. Continue south and drive up the Glacier Point Road, where there are several places for you to enjoy the park’s many trails.
Your ultimate destination is Glacier Point, the overlook that literally takes visitor’s breath away on a daily basis. Here you can drink in the view of Half Dome, Yosemite’s signature peak, look down on Yosemite Falls, take in the view of several other waterfalls and then, as a glorious end to your day, watch the setting sun turn the western sky into a blaze of color.
Once you’ve enjoyed Yosemite, you will want to return to the McCaffrey House again and again to visit.
