ABOUT THE SHOW
Sister Act is the feel-good musical comedy smash that has audiences jumping to their feet! This uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and the uptight Mother Superior. But using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community. Filled with powerful gospel music, fabulous dancing and a truly moving story, Sister Act is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship.
MICHAEL MCCAFFREY’S REVIEW
Needless to say – but I will anyway – Sister’s Act as Sierra Reparatory Theatre was fabulous. “The Lord sayeth – Make a joyful noise”. Stephanie and I were fortunate enough to attend the opening night gala of SRT’s Sister Act. It is the mother of all joyful noises. The music is infectious, the actors are enjoying themselves as much or more than the audience and the dancing will make you want to join in the fun. I was quite impressed with the creativity and ingenuity of the stage sets which served to enhance the enchanting atmosphere. All in all it was a most uplifting, engaging and joyful event. Don’t miss it!
