If you are staying at McCaffrey House Bed & Breakfast, you won’t want to miss a trip (or two!) to Yosemite National Park. We are close to Yosemite, only an hour’s drive away.
Ansel Adams made the park famous with his breathtaking photographs of the park. People have flocked to the location ever since to see it for themselves.
Worth such a large area, it can be seen in a variety of ways. You could choose a guided bus tour any time of year, with experts on board to offer commentary on the sights. Choose between a Glacier Point tour, a Yosemite Valley Floor Tour, or a Tuolumne Meadows hikers tour.
Do you like to see things from horseback? You can take a tour by horse or mule, depending on the terrain, through several different sections of the park.
If you prefer to plan your own tour, check out the National Park Service’s website. Here is a small sampling of the places you can visit on your own.
Yosemite Valley has a little of everything. You can visit museums, a nature center that has family friendly programming and hiking, and more. Some trails will take you to waterfalls, wildflowers, and many kinds of wildlife. Bring your binoculars if you are a bird watcher and add to your list. Some trails and facilities are handicap accessible. Check the website to find out more.
Mariposa Grove boasts a 3,000 year old sequoia forest.
Hetch Hetchy offers hiking to a river, past lakes, and a reservoir. If you are up for a challenging hike, take a visit to this corner of the park.
Take a day or two during your stay with us to visit one of our national treasures. You won’t regret it.
